Welcome to our very, very “secret” page! Very few adventurers had made it this far and there is no turning back now! But enough silliness! We here at CYLS are big fans of Easter Eggs, and for years have been slipping them into our releases. If you have ever looked at the spine of most of our releases, you will see a tiny image near the bottom of the spine. We call this a “Flip Book Image”. Each medium with a spine (mostly CDs and 12” vinyl) contains a series of images, split up between 10 releases. If you line them up on your shelf chronologically, you will see a series of images that vary gradually from one album to the next, so that when the albums (if they could be stacked and flipped like paper) would show pictures that appear to animate by simulating motion or some other change, i.e. a “flip book”. [Credit to good ol’ Wikipedia for the definition that we modified so it fit our purposes] We’ve done things like a cannibalistic pizza that eats one of his own kind, a snake that scarfs down a delicious, knowledge-filled apple, and a raccoon/toaster combo ala Futurama. And we’re just getting started! For some series, like the Lady Rainicorn series, lining up the releases in chronological order results in one complete image. Per our example, each album in the set contains 1/10th of Lady Rainicorn, and when all lined up, you see how she soars majestically Each medium has its own series, so if a release has a CD and a vinyl format, they would both have different images, respectively. Take a gander below to see which albums belong to which series. Try to catch ‘em all!
